Country overview
About Estonia
Estonia is a republic on the Baltic Sea in northern Europe. Tallinn is the capital and the largest city. About 1.3 million people live here. It borders Latvia and Russia, with Finland across the Gulf of Finland. Estonian is the official language. The euro is the currency.
Estonia joined the European Union in 2004, the euro area in 2011, and is in Schengen. It is known for digital public administration. e-Residency lets a non-resident obtain a government digital identity and then form an Estonian company online. The company sits inside the EU single market.
Brikseka forms Estonian companies. The usual vehicle is a private limited company (osaühing, OÜ), formed through e-Residency. After the digital identity card is issued, the company is filed online. No local director is required. Collecting the card may still mean a visit to an Estonian embassy or to Tallinn.
We then advise on a business bank account and payment gateways such as Stripe and PayPal. Approvals are decided by the providers. If your aim is to live in Estonia, company formation is not a residence permit — that is a separate immigration file, which we also advise on.
