About Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan is a republic in the South Caucasus, on the western shore of the Caspian Sea. Baku is the capital and the largest city. About 10 million people live here. It borders Russia, Georgia, Armenia and Iran, with the Nakhchivan exclave also bordering Turkey. Azerbaijani is the official language. The currency is the manat (AZN).
Baku is an energy, logistics and services city on the Caspian, used as a business base for trade between the Caucasus, Central Asia and the wider region. Azerbaijan is not a member of the European Union. English is used in business in Baku. The legal system is civil law, and foreign ownership of a limited liability company is permitted.
Brikseka forms Azerbaijani companies. The usual vehicle is a limited liability company (LLC). Foreign ownership is permitted. A visit is sometimes required, particularly for identification or banking. No local director is required for a standard filing. Formation typically takes two to four weeks once the file is complete.
We then advise on a business bank account and on invoicing accounts. Stripe is not available as a merchant account on an Azerbaijani company. Local banks often find a visit helpful when opening an account. Approvals are decided by the providers. If your aim is to live in Azerbaijan, company formation is not a residence permit — that is a separate immigration file, which we also advise on.

How we work
From briefing to a registered company
Briefing
We review your business, the right entity for this country, costs, and whether a visit is likely.
Company formation
Local counsel, notary where required, and the commercial register. We coordinate the documents through to a registered company.
Banking and payments
After the company exists, we prepare applications for a business account and payment gateways.
After incorporation
Statutory records, a named contact, and introductions to accounting so the company can operate.
Also available
Business immigration
Forming a company in Azerbaijan does not grant the right to live there. If you intend to relocate, we also advise on Azerbaijan business immigration — including Temporary residence — entrepreneurship / investment. Requirements, capital, and processing times are confirmed before any engagement.
