Country overview
About Gibraltar
Gibraltar is a British overseas territory at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula, at the entrance to the Mediterranean. It shares a land border with Spain. English is the official language. About 34,000 people live here. The currency is the pound sterling.
Gibraltar is not a member of the European Union. It left with the United Kingdom. A United Kingdom–EU agreement concluded in 2026 governs the land frontier with Spain; it does not place a Gibraltar company inside the EU single market. The territory uses English common-law company legislation and sterling. It sits next to Spain and is used when that legal and geographic home is the right one — not as a low-cost substitute for a standard EU company.
Brikseka forms Gibraltar companies. The usual vehicle is a limited company. Incorporation can be completed remotely. No local director is required.
We then advise on a business bank account and payment gateways such as Stripe and PayPal. Gibraltar and United Kingdom electronic money institutions are often the practical first accounts. Approvals are decided by the providers. If your aim is to live in Gibraltar, company formation is not a residence permit — that is a separate immigration file, which we also advise on.
Company formation
We form a Gibraltar limited company remotely, then stay with the file through banking and payments.
Sterling, not EU
A British overseas territory using the pound sterling. Not an EU member. The 2026 UK–EU frontier agreement does not make a Gibraltar company an EU company.
Iberian frontier
English-language company law on a territory adjacent to Spain, at the entrance to the Mediterranean.
Tax setting
Corporation tax is published at 15 percent on profits accrued in or derived from Gibraltar. We confirm the live position before you proceed.
