About Mauritius
Mauritius is an island republic in the Indian Ocean, east of Madagascar. Port Louis is the capital and the principal harbour. About 1.3 million people live here. English is the language of government; French and Mauritian Creole are widely spoken. The currency is the Mauritian rupee (MUR).
The country is an established financial centre for holding and investment between Africa and Asia. Port Louis supports a dense professional-services market, a wide double-tax treaty network, and membership of regional groups including SADC and COMESA. A Global Business Company is a regulated vehicle. Substance in Mauritius is required if the structure is to be taken seriously by banks, counterparties and tax authorities.

Formation typically takes two to four weeks. Company documents can often be prepared remotely; identification, banking, or immigration may still require travel.
