About Nigeria

Nigeria is a federal republic in West Africa. Abuja is the capital; Lagos is the commercial centre and the largest city. About 230 million people live here — the largest population in Africa. It borders Benin, Niger, Chad and Cameroon, with a long Atlantic coast. English is the official language. The currency is the naira (NGN).

Lagos is one of Africa’s main commercial cities, with a deep domestic market in consumer goods, services, energy and technology. Abuja is the seat of government. Nigeria is a member of ECOWAS. English common law and the Companies and Allied Matters Act frame company practice. This is an operating jurisdiction for people who intend to do business in Nigeria.

Brikseka forms Nigerian companies. The usual vehicle is a private limited company at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). No local director is required. Incorporation can start remotely; identification, banking, or immigration may still require travel. Typical formation takes one to four weeks.

We then advise on a business bank account and local payment processors, including Paystack and Flutterwave. Nigerian banks conduct thorough identification. Approvals are decided by the providers. If your aim is to live in Nigeria, company formation is not a residence permit — that is a separate immigration file, which we also advise on.

How we work

From briefing to a registered company

  1. Briefing

We review your business, the right entity for this country, costs, and whether a visit is likely.

  2. Company formation

Local counsel, notary where required, and the commercial register. We coordinate the documents through to a registered company.

  3. Banking and payments

After the company exists, we prepare applications for a business account and payment gateways.

  4. After incorporation

Statutory records, a named contact, and introductions to accounting so the company can operate.
