About Panama
Panama is a republic on the isthmus of Central America, between the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Panama City is the capital and the largest city. About 4.5 million people live here. It borders Costa Rica and Colombia. Spanish is the official language. The balboa (PAB) is at par with the United States dollar; the dollar is used widely, and the economy is dollarized.
The Panama Canal makes the country a logistics and shipping hub between the Atlantic and the Pacific. Panama City is used for regional holding, trade and professional services. The legal system is civil law. A Panamanian company is a legal vehicle under Panamanian law. It is formed where that vehicle is required — including holding — not as a substitute for a payments company in another country.
Brikseka forms Panamanian companies. The usual vehicles are a sociedad anónima (S.A.) or an LLC. Incorporation is remote, typically in one to two weeks, through a resident agent. No visit is required to incorporate. No local director is required for a standard company.
We then advise on banking. Stripe, PayPal and similar merchant accounts are not available on a Panamanian company. Panamanian banks are difficult for non-resident owners. Approvals are decided by the providers. If your aim is to live in Panama, company formation is not a residence permit — that is a separate immigration file, which we also advise on.
